Equal opportunities for all will build a better world

Share the importance of International Women’s Day on March 8 and every day

Gender equality means working together to solve conflict, violence and other global challenges. It’s about creating an equal and enabled world, which is the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, this Sunday, March 8.

“Just as slavery and colonialism were a stain on previous centuries, women’s inequality should shame us all in the 21st,” explains António Guterres, United Nations’ secretary-general bluntly. “Because it is not only unacceptable; it is stupid.”

Together, we can make greater change. We see that every day in our work at Children Believe where we help girls and boys enjoy equal opportunities through education, skills-building and leadership training, so they can support one another to change their world for the better.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
