See how Children Believe helped Serkalem realize her dreams

We recently caught up with Serkalem, who’s living out her dream of playing on the Ethiopian women’s national soccer team, Lucy, thanks to support through Children Believe.

“I want to thank Children Believe and all the people who have supported me,” Serkalem told us. “I hope you continue to support young soccer players in my community so that they can realize their dreams like I did.”

Children Believe works in sponsorship communities in six countries around the world to support thriving communities, advance child rights and protection, promote equality for girls and partner with children to create lasting change in their communities.

Watch the video below to hear Serkalem’s story.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
