World Teachers’ Day: a reminder about the hearts behind our education systems

Share your gratitude for a favourite teacher by taking part in our #WalkToSchool day challenge

Teachers are the heart of education, encouraging many across the globe, so this #WorldTeachersDay we’re celebrating these special people who go above and beyond to ensure learning never stops, even through the pandemic.

“[Teachers] are the principal actors of the global education recovery efforts and are key in accelerating progress towards inclusive and equitable quality education for every learner, in every circumstance”, noted UNESCO’s Audrey Azoulay, UN Children’s Fund’s Henrietta Fore, International Labour Organization’s Guy Ryder and Education International’s David Edwards, in a joint statement

At Children Believe, not only do we help children access education, but we help teachers and communities learn and grow, too. In 2019/2020, we’ve supported more than 466,000 children, teachers, parents and guardians in accessing inclusive, quality education.

This month, support children and teachers by taking part in our #WalktoSchool day. Learn more.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.

About Childfund Alliance

A member of ChildFund Alliance, Children Believe is part of a global network of child-focused development organizations working to create opportunities for children and youth, their families and communities. ChildFund helps nearly 23-million children and their families in 70 countries overcome poverty and underlying conditions that prevent children from achieving their full potential. We work to end violence against children; provide expertise in emergencies and disasters to ease the harmful impact on children and their communities; and engage children and youth to create lasting change and elevate their voices in decisions that affect their lives.
